Hadron masses in QCD with one quark flavour
نویسنده
چکیده
One-flavour QCD – a gauge theory with SU(3) colour gauge group and a fermion in the fundamental representation – is studied by Monte Carlo simulations. The mass spectrum of hadronic bound states is investigated in a volume with extensions of L ≃ 4.4 r0 (≃ 2.2 fm) at two different lattice spacings: a ≃ 0.37 r0 (≃ 0.19 fm) and a ≃ 0.27 r0 (≃ 0.13 fm). The lattice action is Symanzik tree-level-improved Wilson action for the gauge field and (unimproved) Wilson action for the fermion.

Recent Results from the CP - PACS Collaboration
We present an overview of recent results from the CP-PACS computer on the quenched light hadron spectrum and an ongoing two-flavour full QCD study. We find that our quenched hadron mass results are compatible with the mass formulae predicted by quenched chiral perturbation theory, which we adopt in our final analysis. Quenched hadron masses in the continuum limit show unambiguous and systematic...
متن کاملThermodynamics at Non-Zero Baryon Number Density: A Comparison of Lattice and Hadron Resonance Gas Model Calculations
We compare recent lattice studies of QCD thermodynamics at non-zero quark chemical potential with the thermodynamics of a hadron resonance gas. We argue that for T ≤ Tc the equation of state derived from Monte–Carlo simulations of two flavour QCD at non-zero chemical potential can be well described by a hadron resonance gas when using the same set of approximations as used in current lattice ca...
متن کاملQuark Mass and Flavour Dependence of the QCD Phase Transition
We analyze the quark mass and flavour dependence of the QCD phase transition temperature. When the lightest pseudo-scalar meson mass (m PS) is larger than 2 GeV the critical temperature is controlled by the gluonic sector of QCD alone. For smaller values of the lightest meson mass the pseudo-critical temperature decreases slowly with m PS. For a large regime of meson masses the pseudo-critical ...
متن کاملLight meson masses and decay constants in 2 + 1 flavour domain wall QCD
We present results for light meson masses and psedoscalar meson decay constants in 2+1 flavour domain wall QCD with the DBW2 and Iwasaki gauge actions, using lattices with linear sizes in the range 1.6 to 2.2fm and u and d quark masses as low as one quarter of the strange quark mass. All data were generated on the QCDOC machines at the University of Edinburgh and Brookhaven National Laboratory....
متن کاملA New Slant on Hadron Structure
Rather than regarding the restriction of current lattice QCD simulations to quark masses that are 5–10 times larger than those observed, we note that this presents a wonderful opportunity to deepen our understanding of QCD. Just as it has been possible to learn a great deal about QCD by treating Nc as a variable, so the study of hadron properties as a function of quark mass is leading us to a m...
